The following media files may be uploaded to the server: 
 
Audio - MPEG 3 (.mp3, mpeg3), AAC (.mp4, .m4a), QuickTime (.mov) 
 
Video - MPEG 1 (.mpg, .mpeg), MPEG 4 (.mp4, .m4v), QuickTime (.mov), 3gpp (.3gp, .3gp2), Shockwave (.swf) 
 
Other - Adobe Acrobat (.pdf) 
 
Note: While the various audio and video file types can be played on a computer, individual portable media players may not play some file types.

MPEG Streamclip is a free program that can be used for editing and converting video files. It runs on MacOS and MS Windows. It can be downloaded here

For Mac users, there is another free program, iSquint, that converts various video formats to iPod video. It can be downloaded here

Audacity is a free program that can be used to record, edit, and convert audio files. It runs on MacOS, MS Windows, and Linux/Unix. It can be downloaded here
 
To work with MP3 files, another component needs to be downloaded and installed. A Weblink and instructions for that component are available at the Audacity Website, http://audacity.sourceforge.net/

An Adobe Acrobat (PDF) file has been created to help you with the basic setup of your podcast Weblog. If you need to download the free Acrobat Reader software, Go Here

Click on the Podcast link below to download the instructions. The instructions will usually display in your Web browser. To download and save the file, right-click (control-click for Mac one-button mouse) on the link and select the appropriate action from the resulting pop-up menu. The downloaded file can be viewed in Acrobat Reader. Mac users can also use the Preview application to view the file.
